Catholic Charities believes that safe, affordable housing is the important first step to helping people overcome adversity, create stability and work toward a successful future. Our affiliate, Housing for Hope, has affordable housing communities for low-income individuals and families. Catholic Charities Resident Services teams help residents by connecting them with community resources to and facilitating community events.
Catholic Charities is building its newest affordable housing community, Rosewood Court in Phoenix. It will consist of 50 newly constructed apartments situated on a cul-de-sac street. The development will provide affordable housing for qualifying families, seniors and veterans. Additionally, the development will offer Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant units and access and include a community center offering an array of resources and supportive services.
Here in the desert, we definitely know when summer hits. This year, it was oh-so-clear that summer had arrived on approximately June 4 when temperatures reached a balmy 115 degrees. So we did what any sensible desert dweller does in such circumstances; we gathered together to play water games and eat ice cream.
