For Charlene Petragallo and the Crystal Card Project volunteers, a simple greeting card can become something much more than paper and ink. With creativity, dedication, and a passion for helping others, she has transformed used greeting cards into a source of hope for survivors of domestic violence served through My Sisters’ Place, Catholic Charities’ domestic violence shelter.

Volunteer of Almost 30 Years Helps Continue the Legacy of CARE

Located in Mesa, Ariz., the Community Asset & Resource Enterprise (CARE) was established by neighborhood resident Bev Tittle-Baker to make the area safer for families. Bev sought a way to provide comfort amidst gang and drug violence.
