Marcelo and Mary met in 2007 while we were out with friends at a nightclub and Marcelo asked Mary to dance, literally sweeping her off of her feet. After a few months, we began dating and got married in 2011. Very early in our relationship, we realized our shared love of traveling, hiking, reading, and watching movies. Now, 15 years later, we have grown our common interests, and strengthened our bond through our experiences.

Mary grew up in Michigan, where most of her family still lives. She has an older brother and sister, along with two nephews. Mary visits her family, including aunts, uncles, and cousins about three times a year.

Marcelo grew up in Sao Paulo Brazil, where his family lives today. Marcelo is close with his Mother, brother, and sister, as well as his aunts, uncles, and cousins on his fathers side. Marcelo visits his family every 18 months to reconnect in person and spend time with family and friends.

We have a close circle of friends we call our Arizona family, that travel, camp, and have dinner together often. Many evenings we have a potluck at each other’s house, so the kids can play together. We often spend holidays with our Arizona family to celebrate togetherness.

We live-in a single-story ranch style home with our dog Zinho, in a charming neighborhood within a great school district. We have several parks that are walking distance from our home that we spend time at often.

Our commitment is to love our child unconditionally and protect him / her from harm. We will provide, nurture, charm, and support our child as our number one priority. We will use patience, tolerance, and flexibility to allow our child to grow to be who he/she is meant to be.
