Bethany Durham has a bachelor’s degree in Communication and a passion for storytelling. Her writing for Catholic Charities has included blogs, newspaper and magazine articles. She enjoys telling client stories in a way that captures the humanity and emotions of those she writes about. When she’s not working, Bethany loves to spend time with her two cats, hike and sing karaoke.
Born and raised in Flagstaff, Ariz., Myesha came from a family of abuse, addiction and alcoholism. After years of struggling with addiction and DCS involvement, Myesha got sober and regained custody of her two youngest children. She got an apartment through Catholic Charities and has inspired her relatives to get sober and break the cycle that has plagued her family since childhood.
Kristine hadn’t been using for long and didn’t think she had a problem. But when her addiction to substances led to the removal of her daughter from the home, she knew she had to change. She began working with Arizona Families F.I.R.S.T. (Families in Recovery Succeeding Together) and now has a job, her daughter back and a new outlook on life.
