Holly Yzquierdo is an experienced Marketing and Communications Manager and has served at Catholic Charities since 2014. She is passionate about helping nonprofits share the impact of their work in a digital world. Holly has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Cameron University. Outside of work, Holly enjoys spending time with her family.

Westin Kierland Resort and Spa recently worked with Catholic Charities by creating Thinking of You notes. Three hundred volunteers spent hours creating these notes that will be given to clients in our various programs.

Austin Smith works at Catholic Charities in Flagstaff on a program called SOAR (SSI/SSDI, Outreach, Access, and Recovery) helping clients apply for disability benefits.

To qualify for SOAR clients must be experiencing or at-risk of homelessness and have a mental illness, co-occurring substance abuse disorder or other disability.

Flagstaff Catholic Charities homeless outreach staff went out into the forest late December after a big snow to find people who needed shelter.

When a big December storm hit Flagstaff, Ariz., Catholic Charities staff headed out into the snow seeking the homeless—and they found people living outside in freezing temperatures.

Jonetta Ross is a home-based educator with Catholic Charities—and her day never stops. Working for Catholic Charities West Side Early Head Start program, Ross makes daily home visits to parents to teach them about caring for and educating their children ages 0 to 3.

“Parents are their children’s first teacher,” Ross said.  “The parent’s level of engagement has a lot to do with their children’s growth.”
