Originally from Burma, Sara arrived to the United States in 2011 at age 17 after a prolonged stay in a Malaysian refugee camp. Sara and her cousins left for Malaysia in search of education and a safe place as the military dictatorship in Burma closed their school.
Roberto is a Cuban refugee living in Phoenix--living miles away from his wife and children, so that he can earn money to provide food and shelter for them. He received a van that was donated to Catholic Charities, so he can get to work and provide a ride to their job for other refugees as well.
