Sixth grade students at St. John XXIII Catholic School understand what it means to serve others, especially when taking on Catholic Charities' Miracle Projects.
Miracle Projects encourage students to raise money for people who need help by selling crafts at a school marketplace. Student's use their imagination to create bracelets, cards, books, stress balls, bookmarks and other sellable items. The money raised funds Catholic Charities programs to help veterans, foster care families, the homeless and so many others.
Catholic Charities homeless services team goes out on foot to find people living on the streets during snowstorms. This team spends hours searching neglected parts of Flagstaff to find the homeless. Local parks, drainage tunnels, bridges and shopping centers are hotspots where homeless seek relief from the harsh winter weather.
