Phoenix is one of three cities in a West Coast sex-trafficking ring that also involves Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Women are sex-trafficked between these cities and left unrooted without any support. Many sex-trafficked women fear for their survival and are unable to leave the lifestyle. Catholic Charities started helping sex-trafficked women in the early 1990s through the Diversion program working with the Phoenix Police Department and Maricopa Prosecutor’s Office. Internships and mentors are positions that help our DIGNITY Diversion program.
