If you love to welcome the stranger into your community, you’ll love volunteering with Catholic Charities refugee program. Refugee families often come to this country with no support, not knowing the culture or speaking English. Catholic Charities welcomes refugees to the United States by setting up and furnishing an apartment, purchasing groceries and ensuring adequate and appropriate education placement for children. Volunteer positions include internships (field experience, BSW, MSW, MSW-PAC) as well as family support, ESL and donations volunteers.
You’ll help get refugee families set up and point them in the direction of getting additional assistance with mental health, economic sufficiency, community integration, learning English and immigration services.
