News and information from Catholic Charities Community Services, including updates on services, helpful articles, and resources.

Catholic Charities Community Services is proud to share that we have been officially awarded accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF)—a prestigious recognition that affirms our commitment to quality, accountability, and results.

CARF sets internationally recognized standards of service excellence. Earning this accreditation means that, after a rigorous review process including surveys and site visits, Catholic Charities was found to meet or exceed those high standards in multiple areas of care and organizational strength.

What This Accreditation Means

This three-year accreditation, extending through May 31, 2028, applies to the following Catholic Charities programs:

  • Counseling
  • Foster Care
  • Therapeutic Foster Care
  • MANA (Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force) House
  • Arizona Families F.I.R.S.T. (AFF)
  • Veterans Services

This recognition underscores what we strive for every day: to walk alongside our clients with dignity, compassion, and professionalism, while embracing best practices and a culture of Performance & Quality Improvement (PQI).

Why It Matters

In short, this accreditation means that outside experts looked very closely at our programs, at our workspaces, and at our policies and procedures. They confirmed what we already know – that Catholic Charities is a place people can trust for care, safety, dignity, and hope. We will always strive for excellence.

A Team Effort

Catholic Charities CEO, Paul Mulligan, encouraged everyone in the agency to take pride in this achievement. “I want to extend my gratitude to those members of our leadership team who pushed and pushed to ensure we were ready. A very special thanks goes to Mary Cannon, who did an amazing job leading us through this! We couldn’t have done it without her leadership!”

This achievement reflects not only the strength of the accredited programs but also the commitment of every staff member, volunteer, and supporter who ensures Catholic Charities remains a trusted and effective resource in our community.

Looking Ahead

Receiving CARF accreditation is both a milestone and a responsibility. It challenges us to continue delivering services with excellence, accountability, and compassion, so that every individual and family we serve can experience hope and healing.
