Winter can be especially difficult for individuals and families facing homelessness or unexpected life changes. In this issue, we begin with a powerful story from Catholic Charities Community Services’ PATH program, which provides critical support during Northern Arizona’s coldest months.

You’ll also read how collaboration creates new beginnings—bringing hope to young mothers, families, and individuals through the support of faith communities and dedicated partners. As you explore these stories, we invite you to consider how Arizona’s Charitable Tax Credit helps make this life-changing work possible.

Finding Hope on the Path Out of Homelessness 

For individuals living with serious mental illness, a sudden loss can quickly lead to homelessness—especially in Northern Arizona’s extreme conditions. Catholic Charities Community Services’ PATH (Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness) program meets people where they are, providing immediate support while walking alongside them toward stability.

Through PATH, individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Coconino, Yavapai, and Mohave counties receive life-sustaining assistance, connections to healthcare and benefits, and ongoing case management rooted in trust and compassion. One such individual, Paul*, found consistent support after years of living in his car, helping him regain access to services, basic necessities, and hope for the future.

A Home Rooted in Hope for
New Mothers and Their Babies 

We are grateful to celebrate Life Choices Women’s Clinic and the opening of Casa St. Gianna, a Catholic maternity home that provides support and stability for pregnant women and their children. This work reflects the power of collaborating with our community to uphold dignity, strengthen families, and offer hope when it’s needed most.

When we learned Life Choices was in search of a property where they could accompany clients as they become new mothers, it just so happened that Housing for Hope, an affiliate of Catholic Charities, knew of a property that could make this dream a reality. Catholic Charities helped to secure the property, and Life Choices made this house a home for young moms – a place to land with a newborn where they can build their parenting skills and plan for their future. In addition, the Sisters of Life play an important role in walking alongside the young mothers at Casa St. Gianna as they build a path forward with a beautiful new child.

Handmade Warmth for
Northern Arizona Housing Clients

Our housing programs in Northern Arizona are grateful to the San Francisco de Asís Parish Yarn Ministry for their generous winter donation of handmade gifts and essential items for our housing clients. A longtime partner of Catholic Charities, the Yarn Ministry’s dedication to creating thoughtful, handmade items brings comfort, dignity, and warmth to those we serve.

My Sisters’ Place Receives
Ms. Molly Foundation Grant 

We are grateful to Molly Maid for awarding Catholic Charities’ My Sisters’ Place a Ms. Molly Foundation grant in support of our mission. Members of our My Sisters’ Place team were honored to join the Molly Maid team for a special check presentation celebrating this partnership.

This generous grant will help strengthen the services we provide and expand our ability to support individuals on their journey toward stability and hope. We are thankful for Molly Maid’s commitment to making a meaningful impact in the communities they serve.

Family Connections Helps a Father
and His Daughters Find Their Way

Every family has a story shaped by challenges, resilience, and hope. Through Catholic Charities’ Family Connections program, families in Central and Northern Arizona receive hands-on support to strengthen relationships, build parenting skills, and create stability during difficult seasons.

After facing unexpected legal and financial hardship, a father and his two young daughters were referred to Family Connections, where individualized support helped meet urgent needs and rebuild a sense of security. With guidance from program staff, the family strengthened communication, daily routines, and relationships—laying the foundation for a brighter future together.
