A Record-Breaking Giving Tuesday! | | | | Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we surpassed our Giving Tuesday goal! This year’s success was made possible in part by a special donor who offered a remarkable $50,000 matching gift, inspiring others to give and doubling the impact of every contribution.
Together, our supporters helped raise $210,600 to uplift individuals and families across our programs.
We are deeply grateful for every donor who stepped forward to make this year’s Giving Tuesday our most impactful yet. Your support brings hope, stability, and compassion to those who need it most.

Catholic Charities USA Provides Critical Food Relief During SNAP Shortfall | | | | During the recent government shutdown and resulting SNAP funding cuts, Catholic Charities USA stepped in to support families experiencing food insecurity. They shipped essential food supplies to 119 Catholic Charities agencies nationwide — including ours in Phoenix.
We are deeply grateful for their generous delivery of both shelf-stable items and fresh fruits and vegetables. More than 13,000 pounds of food were distributed to eight of our affordable housing communities, Westside Head Start families, and youth served through North Star Youth Partnership.
This support ensured children, seniors, and families across our programs had access to nutritious food during a challenging time.

Christmas Wish Brings Joy — and the Spirit of Giving — to Local Families | | | | Christmas Wish, formerly known as Emergency Santa, continues its heartfelt tradition of providing Christmas gifts to children from low-income families. In return, parents will volunteer their time — one hour of service for each child — creating a beautiful cycle of generosity that strengthens our community.
This year, 220 families are registered, and 608 children will receive Christmas gifts, bringing hope and joy to homes across our region.

Students Bring Hope to Life Through Miracle Projects
| | | | Our Parish and Community Engagement team continues to inspire the next generation through Miracle Projects—hands-on service initiatives where students learn about Catholic Charities programs, choose one that resonates with them, create a product to sell, and donate the proceeds to support that program.
Recently, 56 eighth-grade students at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School completed their Miracle Project. Together, they raised an incredible $5,925.70 to support those most in need.
These funds will be distributed to the programs the students selected, helping ensure the most vulnerable in our community receive vital support. Their generosity reminds us that compassion and service can start at any age.

Senior Pastor Rev. Dan Hurlbert said, “Being the hands and feet of Christ means going beyond our church walls. We’re grateful to partner with organizations like North Star [Youth Partnership] that make a difference for local youth.”
We extend our sincere thanks to PUMC for their faithful support and partnership.
