| As we step into May, our hearts are full of gratitude. This month, we celebrate Mother’s Day, a beautiful time to honor the love, strength and sacrifice of mothers everywhere. We also recognize National Foster Care Awareness Month, a time to uplift the incredible families who open their hearts and homes to children in need.
In this issue, we’re excited to share a touching video featuring two foster families whose journeys will both inspire and encourage you. You’ll also meet a remarkable single foster dad whose story is featured on our blog.
We’re also thrilled to highlight the incredible volunteers who make our mission possible.
All these stories reflect the power of love, from dedicated foster parents to incredible volunteers who serve with compassion and joy. Thank you for walking alongside us in this mission.

Celebrate Foster Care in May! | | | | Even before he became a foster parent, Doug was working in schools and advocating for children. It’s no surprise that when he saw the need for loving foster homes, he made a goal to take action.
Almost 20 years ago, Doug got his foster care license with Catholic Charities. Over the years, he has provided specialized care through therapeutic foster care, adopted three sons and even become a Licensing and Adoption Specialist himself. Read more about Doug’s foster care journey and how he found his forever family. Read more here.

Celebrating Our Amazing Volunteers | | | | | | Catholic Charities volunteers across Arizona contributed an incredible 22,348 hours of service this year! At two recent celebrations, we recognized over 60 individuals for their outstanding dedication, including recipients of the prestigious Presidential Volunteer Service Awards.
These national awards, presented by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation and Points of Light, honor volunteers who have reached Bronze, Silver or Gold levels of service.
Thank you to all our volunteers—you are truly the heart of our mission!

Brophy College Prep Serves
| | | | Students from Brophy College Preparatory spent their Service Day volunteering at Mesquite Terrace, our newest affordable housing community.
A group of 23 students showed up ready to work; they swept the courtyard, cleaned benches and grills, washed windows and doors, picked up trash throughout the community, and even delivered April newsletters to every unit.
We’re thankful for their commitment to service and for choosing to spend their day with us!
