| As we celebrate Easter, we are reminded of the power of hope, renewal and community. This season is a beautiful reflection of the work we do together—bringing support, love and new beginnings to those in need. Â
From the success of Pedals for Patriots to the grand opening of Westside Head Start and the inspiring dedication of volunteers like Cindy Salvucci, this month’s stories highlight the incredible ways we are making a difference. Plus, don’t forget—the April 15 tax credit deadline is fast approaching, offering a meaningful way to give while reducing your state taxes! Â

Pedals for Patriots: A Ride for Our Veterans | | | | On Saturday, March 8, we had the honor of attending Pedals for Patriots, a fundraiser hosted by Gilbane Building Company at Papago Park. With over 30 riders participating, the event raised an incredible $7,000—all donated to support the Veterans at MANA House! Â
We set up a resource table to share information about our services and had the opportunity to connect with Veterans and riders. It was inspiring to see the community come together in such a meaningful way. This was Gilbane’s first Pedals for Patriots event, and we are so grateful for their generosity and commitment to our mission. Â
A huge thank you to Gilbane Building Company for making a difference in the lives of veterans experiencing homelessness. We look forward to growing this partnership!  | |

Her dedication to CARE’s mission and the relationships she’s built along the way keep her coming back to serve. Â
Volunteers like Cindy are the backbone of what we do, helping provide essential services to the community. Read more about Cindy’s story and the impact of CARE here!

Celebrating the Grand Opening of Westside Head Start – Tolleson South! | | | | Last month, we celebrated the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Westside Head Start – Tolleson South location! This incredible facility is designed to provide a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. Â
The new center features three full-day Head Start classrooms, a full-day Early Head Start classroom, secure entry, spacious learning spaces, restrooms within classrooms, an outdoor play area with a misting system, and more. Â
We are excited for the impact this new center will have on local families and grateful for the commitment to early childhood education. Congratulations to everyone involved in making this vision a reality! Â
Enrollment and classes for Early Head Start begin in July, while classes for Head Start resume in August. Learn more here.

Strengthening and Reunifying Families
| | | | In November 2023, Jarrod and Tiffany experienced the heartbreak of having their two children removed from the home due to addiction to substances. They knew they had to get sober but had no support system and felt completely lost. Â
Much-needed help arrived when they discovered Catholic Charities’ Family Connections program. Family Connections is a change-focused intervention that leads families toward their goals through individualized sessions. Â
With the help of a caring community and local resources, Jarrod and Tiffany found stable employment and safe housing and were able to be reunified with their kids a year later. Read more about their story and how Family Connections made them feel heard and validated.
