For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me. Matthew 25:35

June is Refugee Awareness Month. At Catholic Charities, we are proud to assist refugees and immigrants who are legally in the United States. Join us as we celebrate Phoenix World Refugee Day on June 22!

Our Veterans Need You…

Catholic Charities No Longer Homeless Campaign for veterans has been gathering support since 2018. We are only 10% away from our goal of $7.5 million for our 76-bed transitional living facility for veterans in Phoenix and intensive case management for veterans and their families in Northern Arizona. But we need your support now to help ensure our beloved veterans who gave so much for their country are No Longer Homeless. Read CEO Paul Mulligan’s update and find out how you can help.

Pinyon Pointe Provides
Housing and Hope in Northern Arizona

Housing for Hope, an affiliate of Catholic Charities Community Services, is excited to announce the completion of Pinyon Pointe Apartments in Page, Ariz. The hotel-to-affordable housing project involved converting a former 39-room hotel into 20 transitional housing units, with a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. In addition to stable housing, Catholic Charities will provide a wide range of wrap-around services to help residents work toward permanent housing.

Thank you to all those who attended the May Grand Opening of Pinyon Pointe and helped make this important project possible! A special thanks to our community partners, Coconino County, United Way of Northern Arizona, and Arizona Community Foundation; and our funding partners, Arizona Department of Housing and Arizona Housing Fund.

Pinyon Pointe was featured in AZ Central! Read more about it and other upcoming Catholic Charities housing project here.

Local Parishes Come Together
to Focus on Mental Health

Last month, over 100 people from 31 different parishes and organizations attended the Whole Hearted Trauma Training in partnership with the Diocese of Phoenix Office of Mental Health Ministry. The parish-based mental health seminar, sponsored by Catholic Charities USA, focused on trauma awareness. Those in attendance were presented with ways to use faith-driven personal experience, scripture, and other religious practices to help address mental health. The US Conference of Catholic Bishops has designated October as Mental Health Month.

Thank you to presenter Michael Carotta, Ed.D. and Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Parish for hosting this important event!

Thank you, Barbara, for the lasting impact you have made in the region!
