Foster Care

Recruiting and Licensing

We recruit, train, and license families that can provide loving homes to children in the custody of the state's Child Protective Services. Once a child is placed in a foster home, Catholic Charities continues to supervise care and support foster families to make sure that the needs of foster children are met.

Community Adoptions

When a family expresses interest in adopting a child that is available for adoption through Child Protective Services, Catholic Charities assists in the process by certifying adoptive homes, matching children to families, and providing post-placement support.

Treatment Foster Care (HCTC)

Home Care Training for the Home Care Client (HCTC) is a behavioral health service provided within the setting of the professional foster home to young people who, without this service, would be at risk of placement into a restrictive residential setting such as a hospital, psychiatric center, correctional facility, residential treatment center or a group home.  HCTC offers another treatment alternative in order to promote home-based, community-based services for youth with more complex and intensive behavioral health needs. HCTC enables youth to receive the services and support they need within the context of family living.

Unaccompanied Refugee Foster Care

Catholic Charities recruits, trains and supervises homes and unaccompanied children placed in homes. Support services are also provided to the foster parents and children. Phoenix Regional Service Center only.
