PHOENIX, Ariz. (Dec. 30, 2008)… Catholic Charities CEO Paul Martodam is pleased to announce that Ed Beardsley has joined the organization as director of development.

As director of development, he will be responsible for all fundraising and development efforts.  Beardsley will oversee the annual campaign, major gifts, events, grants and preparation for an endowment and capital campaign.

“Ed has considerable development experience both with organizations and as a consultant,” said Martodam.  “We are confident he can lead our development efforts and build effective relationships with corporations, foundations and donors.”

Prior to joining Catholic Charities, Beardsley spent the last four years with Safari Club International and its foundation, where he served as director of development and the interim executive director. Previous experience also includes development consulting for local and national nonprofit organizations such as Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Hospice of Yuma, Food for the Hungry and Save the Children.

Beardsley, a Paradise Valley resident, is involved with several charitable organizations including the Association for Fundraising Professionals, Xavier College Preparatory and the Scottsdale Healthcare Hospital Foundation.

He earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in political science from the University of Colorado.
