Bilingual Parent Educator - Chandler (posted 03/01/2010)

 

Job Summary:

  • Contacts referred families to explain the program and engage families into services;
  • Conducts behavioral and developmental assessments with new families;
  • Develops service plans with families base on their assessments and concerns;
  • Provides home visitation services to families weekly to monthly, based on need;
  • Oversees and assist with group meetings, including training and support;
  • Regularly provides screenings for children on caseload;
  • Makes appropriate referrals to government and community agencies for needed assistance;
  • Represents the program to the community, particularly potential referral sources;
  • Reviews all cases with supervisor within 30 days of assessment;
  • Documents all contacts in the case record according to AzPaC and contract guidelines;
  • Actively participates in scheduled staff and team meetings;
  • Collaborates with other involved professionals and family members to maximize effectiveness of the case plan and amend as needed;
  • Reports suspected child abuse or neglect to Child Protective Services;
  • Closes case when a)targeted goals have been satisfactorily addressed, b) the client requests case closure, or c) provision of service can no longer achieve goals.

 Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in early childhood development, education, family studies, or related human service field, or staff member is extensively trained and can demonstrate competency in service provision;
  • Prior experience in early childhood required;
  • Experience in family centered practice and case management preferred.

Special Requirements:

·         Fingerprint clearance required;

·    Must have valid Arizona driver?s license, reliable transportation and current automobile liability insurance;

             Bilingual (Spanish speaking) required.

Schedule/Salary Info:

·         Full time, 40 hours per week

·    Pay Grade 11
