PHOENIX, Ariz. (Dec. 5, 2007)…Catholic Charities and Terri’s have entered a new partnership designed to turn your gently-used home furnishings, clothing, jewelry, accessories, electronics, art and appliances into cash donations for one of Arizona’s oldest and largest non-profit organizations.

“Partnerships with local businesses are essential to the growth and success of nonprofits,” said Edward Phillips, chief development officer at Catholic Charities.  “Terri’s is committed to making a difference in the community and we’re excited about what the future holds.  In essence, Terri’s has become Catholic Charities thrift store.”

Valley residents can call Terri’s at (480) 969-1121 ext. 3 for pick-up of gently-used home furnishings or accessories at no cost. Simply tell the Terri’s representative you’d like to donate your items to Catholic Charities. Donors will be provided with a tax deductible receipt at time of pick up or drop off. 

Donors can also drop-off items at the following Terri’s locations Monday - Saturday from 11a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.:

Terri Bowersock, a recipient of the Hon Kachina Volunteer Award, has been dedicated to helping her community for 28 years. “Since the loss of my mother to domestic violence, I have committed to giving back to the Phoenix community as thanks to everyone for their love and support,” said Bowersock.  “I’m so excited to partner with Catholic Charities and be a part of all their different projects. So if you have items in your home that you need to clear out, let Terri’s sell it for you and the cash will be donated to Catholic Charities.”

To help further support Catholic Charities, Bowersock is volunteering her speaking services for large events.

A donation to Catholic Charities will benefit more than 200,000 vulnerable Arizona children, families at risk and people in crisis.  Catholic Charities has more than 50 programs including foster care, adoption, refugee services, domestic violence shelters, counseling, West Side Head Start and the nationally renowned prostitution rehabilitation program, DIGNITY.
