PHOENIX – (Feb. 20, 2008)…Edward Phillips, chief development officer of Catholic Charities is pleased to announce that Leslie Lindquist has joined the non-profit as director of major gifts.

“Leslie comes to us from the State of Arizona Department of Commerce, where she was a grant writer,” said Phillips.  “She has a tremendous background and understands the broad spectrum of development.  Leslie has managed annual campaigns, major gifts, capital campaigns, signature events, direct mail and compliance programs.  She is talented and well respected by the community and we’re thrilled to have her on board.”

Lindquist, a Chandler resident, brings over six years of development experience to Catholic Charities.  Prior to her grant writing role for the State of Arizona Department of Commerce, she was a development consultant for the Arizona Perinatal Trust.   Additional experience includes serving as a development specialist for Corporate/Private Foundation Grants at A.T. Still University, and as the Executive Director for Neighbors Who Care, a social services organization for the elderly.  She is a skilled grant writer and instructor with experience in federal, state, tribal, federated, private foundation and corporate giving.

At Catholic Charities, Lindquist will be responsible for building relationships with corporate and foundation donors, planning special events and strengthening the infrastructure to better support program services and expand Catholic Charities’ mission of helping people in need and providing hope.

Lindquist has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Regent’s College, USNY and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Redlands.  In addition, she’s a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), a grant writing instructor, and has served as a Raiser’s Edge beta tester.
